Hello there!

What's new?  Well, today started Physical Therapy. I'll be going 3x per week for about an hour each. Starting Wednesday they said they'll send me home with "at home exercises" as well. I feel pretty good after the first session and I think I'll be able to get rid of the walker sooner than later. Immunotherapy starts tomorrow... I'll post a bit more after, because I have no idea what's to come with that. PT I've done quite a bit, so I know how that's going and pretty much what to expect, but this one is a new experience (I probably don't recommend it if you can avoid it ;)  So, that's that. I did drive myself to my office today and was able to get up the stairs and hold the walker in the other hand (yay me!) - let's see if I can get down! Feel free to comment, call, text, etc. I may not get back to you ASAP, but I will and I greatly appreciate the connections. More to come! -a

Still here!

Sorry for the break in writing... it's been a few weeks of lots of tests and a lot of laying around on my ass... which is driving me nuts. So - what's new? Glad you asked... If I didn't mention it before (and sorry if I did) - my treatment course has changed - for the better!!  NO to chemo and YES to immunotherapy - which of course didn't exist last time I went on this ride. YAY Science! The 5 radiation treatments actually start tonight (and I should be home for the RU tip-off) and go each day (weekends off.) Then the immunotherapy starts on the 21st (I think) and that will be every 6 weeks or so. A followup with the surgeon next week will let me know when I can get rid of the back brace. And, since the oncologist wanted to wait on the PT until the radiation was done (don't ask me why - I don't know) I still havent' started that... So that will be next week too (hopefully.) Any questions, feel free to call, text, WhatsApp, FBDM, IG, etc etc etc - y'all ...

Update - 3/5/22

Sorry for the delay in updating... So this will be a bit of an information dump. Basically, the last few weeks have been tests, tests and more tests - and NO PT 😡 And we actually have some Good news! The plan from the Doctors had been radiation on the spine (x5) and then chemo. Well - no more! Apparently, the tests have gone quite well and it's radiation (x5) and immunotherapy - which, (from my understanding) is MUCH easier on the body AND only ONE treatment every THREE months! (yay me!)  Also, the prognosis (presuming it works) it much better. So, please keep sending me the good juju - it appears to be working!!  A few more tests next week and hopefully the radiation starts in 7-10 days. Thanks... -a
